Holidays on Lanzarote: What is allowed?

Hygiene rules
A national obligation to wear a mouth and nose cover applies in all public places inside and outside closed rooms, where a safety distance of 1.5 m cannot be guarenteed. In public transport, a general mask obligation applies. Under 6-year-olds and persons for whom the mask requirement is contraindicated because of  health reasons are exempt from the obligation.

Are the shops open on the Canaries?
Shops with a retail space of up to 400 square meters can open in phase 2 regions with 40 percent of their capacity. In Phase 3, businesses can open up with 50 percent of their capacity. Restaurants are allowed to operate their outdoor management with a maximum of half of their tables and a maximum of ten people per table, as well as paying as cashlessly as possible.

What about cultural events?
The Canary Islands belong to the Phase 3 regions, so up to 80 people (one third of their capacity) are allowed indoors and 800 seats outside. Theatres (with less than 300 seats) and other public spaces can be opened with separation measures and up to 50 percent of their capacity in phase 3.

Special features of Lanzarote: Why are the Canary Islands one of the safest destinations?
Due to the low population density, there haven’t been hardly any corona cases on Lanzarote. In comparison to other Spanish regions in Spain, the Canary Islands is the least affected one.
